The Mini Youth Games is a multi-sport programme open to all primary school children in Years 5 and 6 in Medway irrespective of race, gender, ability or disability. The Mini Youth Games is not just a series of school competitions but an enjoyable experience for all children that promotes lifelong participation in sport.
The sports development team sets positive examples for pupils through sport encouraging fair play, team work and respect.
The Mini Youth Games series is made up of different sports. At each event points are awarded to each school for simply taking part. This is the main emphasis of the games - enjoyable participation. The most prestigious prize at every event is always the fair play award and there is a fair play league that runs alongside the main league.
The ten different sports are:Netball, Hockey, Swimming, Kwik Cricket, Table Tennis, Basketball, Tag Rugby, Badminton, Girls' Football and Athletics.Individual schools score points depending on their finishing position in each event. At the end of the year, individual schools' points are calculated to give winning positions. These are our results for the past few years:

Featherby Juniors has a very lively and active Parent/Teacher/Friends Association which runs a series of events throughout the year. All parents are automatically members and volunteers to help on the committee are always welcome. The money raised by FOFJSA events is invaluable to the school as it is spent on resources which the children directly benefit from throughout the school.
